Sale Creek, TN. I may have met one person in the world who has even heard of it. But for us, it's become a sacred place. It's where my Mom and Dad have begun their lives in their retirement, on a piece of land that I'm sure resembles some place in Heaven...
There have been so many locations that surround the house that I've eyed over the years, practically chomping at the bit to photograph someone there. Which made it even more special for me that it could be two of our dear friends.
Lane and I grew up through our college years together as roommates and friends. We've seen each other through ups and downs, before boyfriends, fiances, and marriage. She is and always has been a strong woman with a good head on her shoulders and has made me laugh more than anyone over things that most people would probably think were crazy. And when she met Chad, she lit up even more. It's so beautiful to see these two with each other. Best friends, but quite obviously crazy about each other, and rightfully so. Rock and I swear that Chad might be the kindest guy we've ever met. They're a perfect pair and we are more than thrilled to have had the opportunity to see these two through a particularly special part of their lives together as they make strides toward marriage next April!
We decided to shoot downtown Chattanooga for part of their session on the Walnut Street Bridge, and it is awesome. I'm crazy about the lines of the structure and the way it managed to frame these two up perfectly, and, despite the inundation of prom-goers shooting on the bridge, it was like there was no one there but them two.
Our part two took place in some of my favorites spots in Sale Creek. Even with the threat of tornadoes just the day before (GA/TN weather, anyone?), we managed a stunning day, and just as the light was setting to the perfect point in the sky, we made it to my favorite spot under the fullest, most beautiful tree where the afternoon's golden light waited for us there. It made for the perfect setting for these two and I was on the verge of tears I was so excited, haha. (Have I mentioned I'm a feeler?)
I'm in love with these captures of a couple of precious friends that are just doing it right. So happy for the love they've found in each other and to have had the chance to play a small role in the beginning of their new lives together. Congratulations Lane and Chad!
