This inspirational piece took place at a venue named 'Engelheim'. In German, it means "angel home", and this name was the inspiration behind creating a work that suited the venue's German concept.
Touches of soft serenity blue graced the mountainous backdrop and was carried through elements such as the bride's collection of details, the "Midnight Kiss" signature cocktail (a fusion of vodka, champagne and blue curacao liqueur) and organically blue flora. The gorgeous, gathered bouquet featured delphinium, complemented by a delicate dusty miller, peonies, ranunculus, seeded eucalyptus and ivory garden roses with just the slightest hint of a blush center.
'Berliner Pfannkuchens', affectionately nicknamed "Berliners", are German pastries filled with marmalade or jam and topped with powdered sugar. For the bride or planner curating a wedding marked by German heritage, Berliners are the perfect to use in place of a traditional wedding cake, as place settings, or as little favors for attendees.
Shot primarily with medium format film in effort to preserve an air of romanticism and integrity, this piece evokes a simple elegance, which is often all that's needed in photographing a bridal session. In this case, we decided to incorporate miss Lucy, in hopes of inspiring pup-loving brides who just can't see their day without their best friend. The collaborative (and stunning, vintage fur shawl!) is evident of an early Spring in Germany, which happens to be much like ours here in the Southeastern US.
